Lately, email newsletters have felt to me like a quiet respite from the constant drum beat that emanates from news sites and social media. The Res Obscura newsletter is sent out roughly biweekly, with around a dozen links to articles and blog posts related to history. The only selection criteria is whether or not I personally find something to be interesting. Like the Res Obscura blog, the areas of focus include the history of globalization, history of science and technology, drugs and the drug trade, material culture, the future of academia, and digital humanities.
